CROSS PLAINS - Lisa A. Denruiter, age 40, passed away on Monday, July 28,
2003, at the HospiceCare Center, Fitchburg. She was born on Aug. 20, 1962, in
Red Oak, Iowa, the daughter of Richard and Patty (Smith) Carlson. Lisa was a
1980 graduate of Madison Memorial High School and a member of St. Francis Xavier
Catholic Church. She married Philip C. Denruiter on April 16, 1983, in
Middleton. Lisa was employed with Statz and Harrop as an office manager for more
than 23 years. Lisa loved camping, volleyball, quilting, crafts and was a huge
NASCAR fan. She was very involved with her family even throughout her illness.
Lisa is survived by her husband, Phil; two children, Christina and Bradley; her
parents, Richard and Patty Carlson; a brother, Dick (Stacy); a sister, Laura
(Larry); her paternal grandmother, Lily Carlson; her maternal grandmother, Hazel
Smith; her father- and mother-in-law, Jerry and Donna Denruiter; three
brothers-in-law, Dan (Karen), Terry (Connie) and Mike; two sisters-in-law, Rita
(Phil) Krause and Tracy Hook; three nieces, Mariah, Nicole and Samantha; six
nephews, Michael, Austin, Ethan, Chris, David and Jared; numerous aunts, uncles
and cousins; and her pet and loyal companion, Sally. She was preceded in death
by her grandfathers, Henry Carlson and Newton Smith; and her mother-in-law, Fran
Denruiter. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. FRANCIS XAVIER
CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2947 Thinnes St., Cross Plains, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July
31, 2003, with Father Tom Kelley presiding. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier
Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the church from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on
Wednesday, July 30, 2003, where a Scripture service will be held at 4 p.m. In
lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the benefit fund for her children,
care of State Bank of Cross Plains, 1205 Main St., Cross Plains, WI 53528, or
the St. Francis School. The family wishes to express a special thank you to the
staff and doctors of St. Marys Hospital, Dean Medical Center and the HospiceCare
Center and also a special thank you to all of her friends and family for their
loving care and compassion during her illness. She will be greatly missed by all
